Final announcement:
PERFORMING VIRTUALITIES
Two-day postgraduate workshop
with Lucy Suchman, Daniel Miller, Rob Shields and Nina Wakeford
2-3 May 2000
Cumberland Lodge, Windsor, UK
http://www.brunel.ac.uk/research/virtsoc/
This intensive interdisciplinary workshop examines notions of 'the virtual'
and 'the real'. It asks how the virtual and the real are performed in
relation to technologies, and how we use and understand them. By focusing
on discussion and exchange, this workshop aims to stimulate and help
participants in their own work. The variety and critical insights of the
keynote speakers, and the diversity of participants' research interests,
promises an exciting event.
We are delighted to announce that Lucy Suchman (Xerox PARC, USA) will be
joining the keynote speakers Daniel Miller (UCL, London), Rob Shields
(Carleton University, Ottawa), and Nina Wakeford (Univeristy of Surrey,
Guildford).
Please see the website (below) for more details and an online registration
form.
The deadline for registration is ** now 24th March 2000 **
