Hi
Reading over the weekend's postings, three points occur:
To what extent can Tom's 'fuck' be classified as more obscene than the
almost tabloid-like speculation on the significance of a private act that we
have witnessed on this list?
To what extent is the 'apparent apathy for new media poetries' which we are
told is evinced on this list a product of the immoderate language sometimes
used by of proponents of such poetries?
Maybe Prynne is a fine reader of other people's poetry and a reluctant
reader of his own because reading the work of others is an act of criticism,
of communicating to an audience a particular 'reading' of the work in
question, whereas reading ones own work, even in public, is essentially
listening to oneself articulating, and possibly rewriting, the work.
