I agree with that, or a bit of it, that to ask if God exists or not is to
ask a non-question; and to ask any closely-related question as a guide to
behaviour, is almost certainly the wrong question; though I am damned if I
know what the right question is...

I am not sure I can bring myself formally to say God bless, though I do tend
to say it as an elaborate thanks for courtesies, without considering its
meaning; nevertheless, a happy new year, century and millennium to all women
and men *of *good *will. Bless you all... And to those of ill will, bottom.
I just hope that all those who have gone forward, ahead of the rest of us,
to the 21st century have looked after it. I anticipate a new heaven and a
new earth from tomorrow morning
