Harry--many thanks for the report on Cork, which was a near-miss in my
itinerary: ah well, next year perhaps. A couple small points: (1)
something's been said here of Alex Davis's book, which sounds quite
interesting: I was wondering if anyone had had a chance to register a
verdict on Donal Moriarty's book on Brian Coffey. (2) I take your point
about hooking up with other artforms: one of the pleasures of CCCP has
always been the frequent invitation of a musician; this year we had Simon
Fell's IST, a fascinating free-improv group I'd not encountered before, plus
the excellent exhibition organized by Kevin Nolan of the Andrew Crozier-Ian
Tyson collaborations at the Fitzwilliam (this is still going on there, if
listmembers still want to take a peek). One obvious idea: the great bassist
Barry Guy & his wife the baroque violinist Maya Homburger are now settled in
Ireland: surely they might be a possible booking? I have an ecstatic email
report here from a Scottish correspondent about Guy's appearance with Evan
Parker & Paul Lytton at a festival in Glasgow a week ago....
All best --N
