REMINDER: CALL FOR PAPERS
Commemorating Mary Robinson
23 September 2000
University of Warwick
Keynote Speaker: Stuart Curran
Mary Robinson poet, novelist, philosopher, feminist,
actress, celebrity died on 26 December 1800. This conference
commemorates the 200th anniversary of her death; it is the first
conference devoted solely to Robinson. With the recent publication
of Judith Pascoe's edition of Selected Poems (Broadview
1999), and with several editions of her novels in preparation,
Robinson's work is increasingly available to scholars. We invite
abstracts of approximately 300 words on any aspect of Robinson and her
texts; we hope to be able to offer as many versions of this endlessly
self-reinventing figure as possible. A selection of the conference papers
will be published in a special issue of Women's Writing.
Please send abstracts to Dr. Jacqueline Labbe, Department of
English and Comparative Literary Studies, University of Warwick,
Coventry CV4 7AL. Email submissions, by attachment only and in
Word or compatible, are welcomed and should be sent to
[log in to unmask] Deadline: 30 June 2000.
