The Rothschild Archive can and does afford a conservator when the need
arises. However, this is not a query from us. As I said, my question was on
behalf of a volunteer/amateur. They work alone for a small, private
organisation. They have no conservator, nor access to one. Thus, they sought
my advice and I, in turn, sought advice from professionals with greater
knowledge. I have even been in contact with a dedicated map conservator
thanks to further forwarding of my message to another listserve.
And I always did fall asleep during sermons.
