The Highland Council now produces minutes, agenda, reports electronically.
The Archive Service has been asked to assume the responsibility for the
preservation of these records and to make them available via the internet
once they have been removed from the Counicl's web site current pages. It
is proposed that space will be allocated to the archiving of these
electronic records on the Council's server and that the Archivist will, in
future, co-ordinate with IT services re: migration, etc.
I should be grateful if anyone could tell me of other archive authorities
which have gone down this road or are considering it. Any advice would be
much appreciated, including cost and service implications.
