The University of Wales Swansea is the lead institution in a new RSLP-funded
project entitled "A Mine of Information: Cataloguing the South Wales
Coalfield". This project aims to improve access to research resources
relating to the South Wales Coalfield, by creating online catalogue records
for relevant material located in partner institutions, holding the records
in EAD and MARC databases at UWS, and enabling cross-searching of these by
the end-user via the Web.
Applications are invited for the following fixed-term position:
Project Manager (ALC3)
The post involves day to day management of the project, leading a project
team of three staff based at UWS, as well as liaising closely with staff at
partner institutions and with existing archive and library staff at UWS.

consistency and quality of records produced by project staff. The manager
will also be responsible for the evaluation and dissemination of the project
within the HE and archive sectors.
