Access to Somerset Archives
Access to Somerset Archives is an ambitious
project to provide a unified
database of information on publicly accessible
archives across the
historic county of Somerset. It is funded by the
Heritage Lottery Fund in
partnership with Somerset County Council, North
Somerset Council and Bath
and North East Somerset Council.
Part of the project will convert and revise
existing manual catalogues,
but the major task is to catalogue in some detail
large parts of major
collections such as Somerset Quarter Sessions,
the diocese of Bath and
Wells, some landed estates and solicitors'
collections, and records of the
city of Bath.
We are looking for a
TEAM LEADER - an archivist with at least three
years' experience - for a
2/3 year contract on the range £19101-20364.
Based at Taunton
Three CATALOGUING ARCHIVISTS - 1-2 year contracts
(£15210- £16680) - one
based at Bath and two at Taunton.
These jobs will be advertised shortly through the
Society of Archivists.
