I am forwarding an enquiry which I have received. I have dealt with the
University of London Library reference relating to Joshua Gee, but am
pretty well stumped by everything else!
You will see that the researcher has obviously had an unsuccessful look at
the NRA and I am hoping that readers of the list might perhaps be able to
provide him with guidance.
I have informed Mr Segal that I have posted his message to the list and if
anyone can help they will contact him directly.
Many thanks

> Greetings from Martha's Vineyard. I, and my colleagues, Ron Monterosso
>Esq, will be returning to England in April to continue my research on
>the Mohegan Indian Tribe, New England, Native Americans, Connecticut,
>the Plymouth Company, Martha's Vineyard Massachusetts. For the Mohegan
>Tribal Nation, I am looking for records concerning, William the 2nd
>Earl of Dartmouth, geography, religion/conversion, colonial laws of
>Connecticut, the grant from Robert, Earl of Warwick to Lord Say(e),
>Seale, & Brook(e), Native American genealogy, William Alexander, and
>document or pictures relating to the Sachem Uncas or other Connecticut
>tribes. The Joshua Gee records cited in the National Register of
>Archives, listed as Ms 99, may contain records of interest.
> Tangential are the records of the Plymouth Company, as they heavily
>interacted with Native Americans. Do you know where they are?
>Any ideas? Also records of the Indian Wars are of great interest.
>Records of Captains Aubert, Cartier, de Champlain, Smith, Hunt, Harlow,
>Hobson, Gorges, Dermer ca.,1550s-1640s are of great interest to us.
>Lastly, I'm still trying to finish that book on Martha's Vineyard, an
>island off the coast of Massachusetts. This text is a Native
>Genealogical History of the island for GPC. Records of the New England
>Company, Plymouth Company, and the Petitions of Christiantown, Gayhead
>{Gay Head}, Chappaquiddick are said to exist somewhere. We would be
>grateful for any direction on the aforementioned topics.
> Please feel free to suggest other archives where we may be able to find
>primary information on Native Americans. (We've covered the obvious
>ones) Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
