Subject: Professional Perception
Now that we all feel suitably told off, (by the way Michael, you must have made
the time to read all the messages) I think that there is an important issue in
volving professional perception. So we all went a bit mad, and maybe we should
n't have, but doesn't that make us all the more human? As we debated last week
the profession suffers from a catalogue of steriotypes. I'm not saying that b
y demonstrating a sense of humour on the list serve that the pre-conceived atti
tudes will change over night but it shows there's more to archive prfessionals
than a cardigan and earl grey tea. If our profession is going to make progress
with regards to our public image I think humour should play a part in getting t
he message across. Maybe we just need to work at it somewhere else..
