1901 CENSUS PROJECT
The 1901 Census Project is now in its contract development phase.
Part of this phase will include a pilot project focusing on the 1891 census
returns for the county of Norfolk. This will give users an opportunity to
help us test various aspects of the service available as part of the pilot.
We have now established a panel to advise us on the development of
the service. This panel includes representatives of The Federation of Family
History Societies, the Society of Genealogists, the Guild of One-Name
Studies, the Association of Genealogists and Record Agents, the British
Association for Local History, and the University of Essex. The terms of
reference of the Advisory Panel, and the minutes of its first and second
meetings, are now available on the Public Record Office web site at
http://www.pro.gov.uk/census/advisory.htm
