Although we're not actually part of the library here in Oldham, we will accept
an Oldham Library Card as a last resort. We ask the member of the public for
their name and address, then ring the library, give them the card number and
check to see if the name and address they have corresponds with that given by
the person. As we know that the library is pretty strict about seeing proofs of
ID before they'll issue cards, I feel that this is no different to accepting
CARN tickets issued by other record offices. Incidentally, we are not members
of CARN, but do accept the tickets.
