Dear Mr Bishop
My respository hold some datasets for the "Schools' Census" (aka
Form 7 returns), an annual data gathering exercise undertaken by
the Department for Education and Employment and its
predecessors since ca.1945-1946. However, this gathers data on
schools (numbers and types of pupils, numbers of teachers etc)
rather than on individual pupils and their families. For further
information, see: <http://ndad.ulcc.ac.uk/datasets/13/series.htm>.
Copies of Schools' Census returns can sometimes be found in the
records of local education authorities, which collect the forms for
LEA-maintained schools on behalf of the DfEE.
