Before starting out on a new project....Does anyone know of any previous
metallographic / analytical work done on cast iron shot?
My only lead at present is an article by Simmons (1988) which states that
some work had been done on shot from the eC16th Molasses Reef Wreck -
revealing "evidence of both rapid and slow cooling" If anyone knows of any
puplication (or unpublished report) on this investigation I'd be pleased to
hear from them.
