Three-year Ph. D. studentship
in Bioinformatics and Computational Molecular Evolution

The above studentship is available to work with Dr Ziheng Yang in the broad
areas of bioinformatics, molecular evolution, and molecular
systematics. Possible research projects include (1) statistical analysis
of microarray gene expression data, (2) phylogenetic analysis of large data
sets, and (3) genome-wide search for genes undergoing adaptive
evolution. Students with a background in maths/stats, computer science, or
biology are encouraged to apply. More information about the group and the

studentship is funded by the Genes and Developmental Biology Committee of
BBSRC. Starting date is anytime from now to 1 January 2001. Application
