A training course designed for people who need to perform data or
statistical analysis using SPSS for Windows. Examples are taken from med
ical and health related research.
The course is run as a hands-on workshop to allow each participant to have
a work station and individual attention.

Prerequisites
Participants should have a familiarity with statistical concepts and basic
IT skills. If you are unsure about your suitability for the course, please

* Transformation, Recording and Computing of Variables.
* Selection of Appropriate Simple Plots and Descriptive Statistics.
* Crosstabulation and the Chi-Square Test.
* Introduction to Statistical Testing and Estimation.
* Exploratory Data Analysis and Checking the Assumptions : Box-Plots,
Histograms, PP Plots.
* One Sample Tests: t-Test, Sign and Signed Rank Tests.
* 2-Sample Tests: t-Test, Mann-Whitney Test.
* Introduction to the Analysis of Variance.
* Correlation and Regression.
