MathSoft International is pleased to announce that Dr Bill
Venables, joint author with Professor Brain Ripley of the popular
text and reference book "Modern Applied Statistics with S-PLUS"
and the recent companion text "S Programming", will be visiting
France and the UK to present courses in Advanced Programming
using S-PLUS. Attendees will get a copy of "S Programming" as
part of the course materials. The course runs over two days, and
attendees have a choice of two locations, namely Paris or Oxford.
Bill Venables is a familiar contributor to the S-news mailing
list and is well-known for his insights into the workings of the
S language. Bill worked for the University of Adelaide for many
years before joining CMIS, the Mathematics and Information
Science Division of CSIRO, Australia's premier scientific and
industrial research organisation in 1999.
The course is aimed at people using S-PLUS extensively in their
day-to-day work particularly for data analysis and graphics.
