At UCL we are looking into the possibility of accepting credit cards for
tuition fee payments and I was wondering about other university's
procedures and experiences.
I'd be grateful for any information at all, but I'd be particularily
interested to know the answers to questions like:-
Whether charges are passed on or not;
The sort of numbers of students who end up paying by card;
Whether you take payments over the phone as well as in person:
How much extra work it takes to deal with the payments, especially when it
comes to identifying and recording the payments when they hit the bank
account;
and
Whether you've looked into taking cards, but decided against it.
Any help would be much appreciated - feel free to reply directly if you'd
prefer. If anyone wants a summary of the replies then I'd be happy to
provide one.
Thanks,
Toby Clark
