Here are the results of my survey of timetabling earlier this week.
Thanks to the people who responded. Of 16 institutions:
(1) ORGANISATION OF TIMETABLING
10 have some type of centralised timetabling
(this includes 2 whose faculties do the timetabling
then the centre allocates the rooms)
6 have wholly devolved to faculties (this includes 1 where the clash
timetable is worked out at the centre first then the rest devolved
to faculties.)
(2) TIMETABLE ON WEB
8 have placed their full timetable on the web
7 have nothing on the web (but most intend to within 12 months)
1 publishes the first year blocking system on the web
