Dear Ian
I believe that anti-GAD is useful only in a pre-diabetic picture, in a
patiet already diagnosied with diabetes this test is unnecessary (in my
opinion), but you can send this test to Balaguet's Institute in Barcelona.
In this patient can be necessary perform anti-albumin mainly to discard
false posiotives in some imunnoassays.

Assunto: Antibodies to glutamic acid decarboxylase (anti-GAD)
One of our consultant physicians has asked if we could measure anti-GAD in a
newly diagnosed Type 1 diabetic.
I have checked on Assay Finder without success. Is there someone in the UK
who offers this assay?
Many Thanks
