As an experienced Java/J2EE developer of over 6 years including work with Spring Frameworks, this is your opportunity to lead a small agile team of developers within a fast moving public sector environment.
As the Lead Developer at GeoPlace, you will work closely with technical and business users to gather requirements and develop solutions, as well being granted the time for research and development into relevant new functionality and technologies. Reporting to Head of Information Systems, your responsibilities include planning and estimating project deliveries, advice and recommendation for software development improvements, and ensuring conformance with company established information security policies and procedures. Using iterative and incremental development, you should be highly motivated and passionate about the software delivered by your team.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- 6+ Java/J2EE
- B.Sc. in Computer Science or related field (In lieu of degree, 4 years relevant work experience)
- Spring Frameworks
- JUnit in TDD
- Continuous Integration tools
- Unix familiarity
- PostGIS/Oracle Spatial
- British Addressing Standards (e.g. BS7666)
- Familiarity with OSX
