DRC IS LOOKING FOR A PROTECTION OFFICER – EU AID VOLUNTEER
Do you wish to contribute to the humanitarian sector with your expertise? Are you keen on working in an intercultural environment? And do you want to strengthen your international profile and get hands-on experience by working in a leading international organization? Then a position as a Senior EU Aid Volunteer is your chance.
ABOUT THE EU AID VOLUNTEER INITIATIVE
The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is leading an exciting new EU project aiming at recruiting and deploying volunteers as part of the European Union Aid Volunteers initiative. The project enables EU citizens and long-term residents of EU countries to get involved in international humanitarian aid projects and develop their career.
This is a great opportunity for experienced professionals to gain new or more international experience by getting involved in humanitarian aid projects in non-EU countries affected by disaster. As a senior EU Aid Volunteer, you will be able to strengthen and develop your skills within the field of humanitarian aid through in-depth training and hands-on field experience.
Currently DRC is looking for a Protection Officer – EU Aid Volunteer to be deployed at DRC's Office in Gali, Abkhazia (Georgia) for 2 months.
The Protection Senior Volunteer – in close cooperation with DRC staff and supervised by DRC Area Manager for Abkhazia - is expected to substantially contribute to the implementation of legal aid and protection activities under DRC’s portfolio in Abkhazia. The main focus of the Protection Senior Volunteer is to collect relevant information, analyse data, and draw lessons learned, identify best practices and formulate recommendations for future programming, and fundraising efforts in 2019 and beyond.
