The Department of Modern Languages at the University of León, Spain is preparing to take part in a competitive process to have a 'Beatriz Galindo' scholar work with us over a limited four-year period.
The 'Beatriz Galindo' scholar programme is co-financed by the Spanish Ministry of Education and the University of León and is intended to attract experienced reseachers to work in Spanish universities. The successful candidates will work at the University of León over a four-year period and will receive a monthly wage of between 3,000 and 4,000 euro depending on the type of position awarded. The scholar will be expected to carry out both teaching and research duties in the Department of Modern Languages.
In order to be awarded a position, the candidates are expected to submit a proposal for their teaching and research activities during this four-year period. However, it is my intention that the candidate (working closely with myself) would submit a proposal closely related to the work on the telecollaborative and Virtual Exchange initiatives and European projects which are currently underway at the University. For this reason, I would only ask for expressions of interest of colleagues who have a CV which reflects an extensive period of research on telecollaboration and who would be able to contribute to the English language teaching in the department. Of course, you must also be willing to come and live in León for a four year period!
If you might be interested in applying for this position, please contact me directly at [log in to unmask] and enclose a CV. Possible candidates are expected to submit their CV and an expression of interest by 24 February 2018. Please be clear that this will be a competitive process and submitting the proposal in no way guarantees that the proposal will be successful.
best wishes, Robert O'Dowd
