I agree, I can see the potential for problems. And as I'm not one of the
people developing services built on this stuff, it's an area where I
really don't have a good grasp of some of the detail myself.
What I'm willing to do (some time in the next couple of weeks maybe) is
to try to compile a set of examples with some of the variants, list the
behaviour I see from some of the parsers in validating these against
type xs:anyURI, and take it to xmlschema-dev and try to get a
pronouncement on any variations/anomalies.
