We are running 7.3 Academic Suite and have it loaded and working fine
without any issues.

In fact we have had it loaded on all previous versions as well without
any issues.

Hi, Any comments on loading Seneca onto the live Blackboard server,
their site advises caution, has anyone uploaded it and seen problems,
see below Anthony's comments...

Hi both,

the documentation is five years old and talks about BB V5.5 only. The
BB
download site doesn't have much more info, but says it was updated for
6.0 in 2003.

It's an unsupported third-party freeware module...

We could test it for a while on Yangtze but there is never going to be
any substantial load on the system. Or we could just go ahead & test
it
on Indus.

The site advises caution, although if I remember the last time we used
this it was a simple upload, not sure what to look out for, Anthony
can
you look at this?

Hi Andy,

this looks good. I can see two of us now!

Today may be a good time to try it, Friday being the quietest day of
the
week.

On a separate topic, I've noticed errors in the logs indicating
failures
to load the news channels - BBC etc. I suspect the old links in the
channel defs. are no longer valid.

Najib, Anthony

Have installed this on Yangtze, and it successfully shows that I'm the
only person online :-)

There's a module on the home page headed Seneca Who's Online or you
can
look under SysAdmin - Tools

Anthony - would this be useful to have on the live site?

The site advises to load this in a test environment first and
to
check suitability. I think AK is the best person to look at this, it
would be very handy to see who's online when its slow
