With apologies for cross posting
Museums and Micro-volunteering: 6-7.30pm - Wednesday 13 June
We have a few spaces left at tonight’s special event at the York Army Museum. We are delighted to be hosting a talk as part of the York Festival of Ideas programme discussing the benefits of heritage micro-volunteering.
Join us to find out more about this form of volunteering and the benefits it can bring for students and young people in particular with Hannah Mather, Culture and Heritage Supervisor at Jarrow Hall, Anglo-Saxon Farm, Village and Bede Museum. Hannah is part of the advisory board for Volunteer Makers, a platform that helps organisations in the voluntary sector manage, grow and engage their volunteer community.
The talk begins at 6pm and includes wine and a soft drink. There will be a chance to look around the museum afterwards and chat with York Army Museum staff and volunteers about volunteering at the museum, which is one of the first Pioneer Volunteer Makers museums in North Yorkshire.
This talk is free and tickets are available from www.yorkfestivalofideas.com/2018/talks/micro-volunteering/ or by telephoning the museum 01904 461010.
With best wishes
