Dear Mailing List,
I am wondering whether anybody could help me with references on the
use of Fagus wood for arrows? I have a piece from an uncharred arrow
from the tomb of Qatna (Syria), that I identified as Fagus or
Platanus. Since the preservation conditions are bad, I could not
discern between the two, but pollen analysis near the site indicates
Fagus was present while Platanus not.
Thank you in advance,
Best regards,
Katleen Deckers
