Wendy:
I have yet to contact you but (am I sure you won't be surprised) I've got some rather lovely material from Southampton. In fact I want you to confirm one identification - because to date, I don't think it has been recorded in England. I also need to talk to you about preservation of fruit skins (cherry/ plum) - as in some cases I seem to have abundant plum/ cherry stones and then concreted 'peel'.
Is there a good Friday (although not necessary 'the good friday') in March/ April when I could bring some material for your advice/ 2nd opinion.
We're hopefully purchasing a digital micrsocope here at OA - although I'm not quite sure when it will actually be purchased (it has to go through various committees).
I'd be more than happy to talk to Rebecca about arranging access for you to use some of the Southampton French Quarter material for your book.
Wendy.

Subject: ID Guide for Mineralised Plant Remains
I am thinking of writing a guide to the identification of mineralised plant macrofossils, if I can get funding. Is anyone else doing this, please?
Best Wishes,
Wendy
