Applications are invited for PhD scholarship funded by ESRC (Advance Quantitative Modelling / Data Sets Studentship: Scottish Graduate School of Social Science)
Title: Interpretable scoring models for understanding household financial distress.
An ideal candidate for this project would have a strong quantitative background and a will to apply his knowledge to real-life social problems.
Highly valuable are PG studies in Operations Research, and Statistics, as well as Applied Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, Actuarial Sciences, Econometrics, Machine Learning. Excellent candidates currently doing their UG studies will also be considered.

Nationality Criteria: UK or EU countries. Applicants must meet ESRC eligibility criteria.
Value: £14,777 + £4,260 tuition fees + £750 research training support grant + £450 overseas fieldwork support
