*Statistician post, NHS Blood and Transplant*

*Location: Stoke Gifford, Bristol*

*Salary: AfC Band 5 (£23,023 - £29,608 pa)*

NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) is a Special Health Authority within the
NHS, responsible for optimising the supply of blood, organs, plasma and
tissues and raising the quality, effectiveness and efficiency of blood and
transplant services. A vacancy has arisen for a permanent Statistician I
post in the Statistics and Clinical Studies team, tenable at NHSBT’s
offices in Stoke Gifford, North Bristol.

The Statistics and Clinical Studies team of NHSBT is responsible for the
design and analysis of studies in organ and tissue donation and
transplantation, blood donation and transfusion medicine. The service also
has responsibility for the design, conduct and analysis of clinical trials
in these areas. This post present an opportunity for those with a degree or
postgraduate qualification in a statistical subject to join a large,
enthusiastic team of statisticians and become involved in extremely
rewarding work using a broad range of statistical skills. The post will
involve collaborative work with clinicians and others working in organ

appointed will have excellent communication skills. The ability to work to
deadlines, both individually and as part of a team, is essential, and
knowledge of the SAS software is also desirable.

Informal enquiries about the post can be made to Matthew Robb, Principal
Statistician, email: [log in to unmask]
