  *   Located at our Camperdown Campus
  *   Full-time fixed term for 12 months with possible extension, remuneration: $97K - $106K p.a which includes leaving loading and up to 17% super



About the opportunity



The Biostatistician role will report to the Senior Clinical Biostatistician.



Biostatistician HEO6: you will have the opportunity to collaborate with and provide statistical support to clinical and allied health researchers, basic scientists and CTC collaborators. There will also be opportunities to apply and develop statistical methods to problems arising from clinical and biological research.  You will be working with other biostatisticians to perform statistical analysis of clinical trials and associated data (meta-analyses, data linkage and genome wide association studies) using various statistical packages.



Biostatistician HEO7: you will provide statistical/methodological leadership in conjunction with high quality statistical advice, and support to researchers, collaborators and research students. In addition to the activities performed at the HEO 6, there will be opportunities to apply statistical methodology to clinical research problems and conduct statistical analyses of clinical trials data. You will contribute to CTC teaching activities (external short courses) assist in the formal post-graduate curriculum as well as the CTC's outreach activities.

We are looking for a Biostatistician (HEO6) who possesses:



  *   a relevant degree (mathematical statistics or similar)
  *   Statistical Program design skills as well as high level computing skills
  *   team-based working skills and an ability to work through problems systematically
  *   an ability to maintain high work standards with guidance and minimal supervision.



We are looking for a Biostatistician (HEO7) who possesses:



  *   post-graduate qualifications in biostatistics or related discipline with at least 4 years/experience as a biostatistician working on clinical trials or other biomedical research projects
  *   experience in statistical analysis programming in at least one software package (e.g. SAS), and demonstrated capacity to develop skills in other statistical software packages (e.g. SPSS, STATA, R)
  *   excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with sound negotiating and conflict resolution skills
  *   an ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  *   a demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work, sometimes under pressure with competing priorities and sometimes limited supervision



The role has been designed for early career biostatisticians who are looking to continue a career in Biostatistics and have relevant experience to build a career in a clinical environment.
