Hi Karen

If you're using moodle 2.3, it does it differently. You have to enable the 'one topic per page' option in Course Format (on the Course Administration > Edit Settings page), which is NOT the default (although I hacked our copy so it is the default).

What we do on our homepage (http://moodle.hull-college.ac.uk) for the round icon buttons at the top, is to have the content for those links that is still within moodle (i.e. ignore our video, mahara buttons) on a page which everyone can see (e.g. Homepage links).

Hope that helps.

Dave

I do hope someone out there can help, I am so frustrated and wasting so much time..

In the process of endeavouring to create a portfolio and Blended learning<http://moodle.org/mod/glossary/showentry.php?courseid=5&eid=7481&displayformat=dictionary> programme. I originally had 3 pages, the home page contained links to the other two pages. I have now combined the three pages into one using 17 topics. Topic 1 contains linked buttons to the other topics. I believed that if I changed the settings to show only 1 topic (as I read somewhere on a forum on using Moodle as a webpage) I could link to topics 2 - 12 displaying the contents. It doesn't work.

This does however work for lessons which have a different address to the main page. Is it possible to display what are in effect hidden topics?

The format of the linking address I am using to display the topics is as follows:

http://able.askham-bryan.ac.uk/course/view.php?id=11872&topic=0#section-2

I do hope this makes sense and someone out there can help.

Thanks
