Dear all,

Perhaps you know of someone who might be interested in the following call for a Marie Curie application in the area of digital memories (a case study on German memorialisation). Thank you all for distributing the call to potentially interested researchers!

Viele Gruesse,
Karina

The Open University wishes to assist researchers in applying for fellowship funding where they will undertake research, benefit from unique personalised training and develop their career prospects.

· Applicants must be in possession of a doctoral degree or have at least four years of full-time equivalent research experience (at time of submission)
· Applicants shall not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the UK for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to 12th September 2018.

The Individual Fellowships will enable successful applicants to come to the Open University for a period of 12 -24 months to undertake world-class research, career development and knowledge transfer. The fellowship provides a generous salary and an allocation for research and training costs. Staff at the OU will provide templates and offer advice and support in developing your application.
Applicants are encouraged to join the Department of Languages and Applied Linguistics, where they will have access and contribute to cutting-edge research into the power of language and the function of digital technology to express cultural, political and social meanings and to express people’s identities in a multilingual and multicultural interconnected world. Our community of researchers is diverse, and we especially welcome applications in the following area this year:

Memories and Identity in a digital world: public debate in digital media, transformation of the public debate by the use of digital technology, analysis of the role and function of digital media in the public and private memorialisation process.
A case study using the German memorialisation (of National Socialism and/or Communism in Germany) is envisaged. Hence applicants must have at least a good reading knowledge of German as well as an interest in qualitative as well as quantitative data analysis.

If you are interested in discussing this opportunity further, please contact [log in to unmask]

Alternatively, send a one page project outline accompanied by your full academic CV to [log in to unmask] cc: [log in to unmask] by the 20th of July and we will review your application.
