I should have added that about 10 years ago when I was a member of an
Information Officers group (ISG or IUIC) we became aware that in order to be
legal according to a strict definition, we would have to seek agreement from
the copyright holders of software products if we wished to iclude a screen
image in our documentation.
I think that this was brought to the attention of Microosft (via CHEST) who
agree to give permission as long as the image wasn't used to denigrate
Microsoft. Before any makes any jokes, I don't think that any other vendor
has given any permission. Has anyone asked Netscape (or Sun if you wish to
include a screen shop of a Solaris desktop).
I would let this sleeping dog lie and avoid this can of worms.
