Colleagues
This is to remind you of the next CTS seminar at UCL, which will be given by
Taku Fujiyama, who is a research fellow the CTS, UCL.
The topic will be
Empirical Investigation of Pedestrian Behaviour on Stairs
17 June 2009
16.00 Chadwick Building 218, UCL
Abstract
Pedestrian simulations have become a useful tool for planning and
design of buildings and transport facilities, but there is a lack of
empirical evidence of pedestrian behaviour that supports simulation
modelling. The presentation shows the results of our empirical
investigations of pedestrian behaviour. Taking behaviour on stairs as
an example, the investigations looked into how pedestrians actually
avoid each other and how the walking speeds of pedestrians varies
according to the characteristics of pedestrians and stairs.
All will be welcome at this seminar, and not advance booking
is necessary. We hope that you will be able to join us for this.
