Dear all,
One behalf of the organising committee I would like to invite you to submit abstracts for the 4th Smart Urban Policy Futures workshop that will take place on 13-14th July 2017 at the University of Greenwich, London.
Abstract submission deadline: 5th June 2017
Acceptance notification: 15th June 2017
Following three successful workshops in the past with presenters and participants from all over Europe, this year we focus on the future of cities through several key themes:
U1: Network & socio-cultural impacts of future cities (e.g. accessibility, equity, privacy)
U2: Energy use
U3: Urban infrastructure
T1: Wider impacts of Autonomous Vehicles (AVs)
T2: Electric Vehicles (EVs)
T3: Big Data & Urban Supply Chain
While we see ever more automotive manufacturers turn to EVs, governments review their policies to allow AVs to be tested within urban areas and smart cities continue to drive future agendas globally. At the same time, Big Data start to become the core of practical advancements both in passenger and freight transport. Yet, there is still limited interaction between the diverse objectives and stakeholders operating within cities. The aim of this workshop is to create a forum for innovative ideas to be presented and debated, to shape relevant policies which will continue to lead to smart and sustainable urban futures. Relevant topics may include evolving business models, Big Data, shared and active transport, the provision of required infrastructure and evaluation of energy demand and supply. The aim is to bring together academics, practitioners and policy makers with an interest in behavioural issues and user perspectives, including urban accessibility, equity, privacy and other socio-cultural issues, in order to have an interdisciplinary debate on these topics.
