You are expected to work in the School of Engineering to conduct air quality monitoring, source apportionment and modelling study in the project CORONA (City Observatory Research platfOrm for iNnovation and Analytics). The role involves conducting a series of air pollution monitoring campaigns investigating the main sources of air pollution in a city. You will be expected to complement monitored air quality data with the secondary data available from local, national and international resources. You will also be expected to conduct source apportionment studies leading to the physical and chemical characterisation of pollutants contributed by various sources, and setting up and application of multi-scale air quality models.
You will have an awarded PhD (or be working towards) in related environmental areas. A proven track record in the area of air pollution monitoring and modelling is essential.
You will have excellent written and oral communication skills. It is desirable to have good understanding of statistical techniques. A knowledge of source apportionment techniques and air quality modelling would be advantageous.
Candidates are expected to be available for occasional national and international travel.
