From time immemorial ETICS has been building binary rpms from the source. I never really understood the technical reasons why they did not produce srpms but they didn't and the UK were foremost among those asking for them. Now that ETICS has started to produce them it seems a bit mean to say that this is worrying. Perhaps we should wait and see what is delivered.

That sounds a little worrying - in a conventional process you'd
create your srpms, then build binary rpms from them, then test
them. It shouldn't really be possible to do the latter without
the former.
It's important that the released binaries are actually generated
from the same srpms that are available to everyone else.
