Just to make sure, as it might be confusing otherwise, if you want to look at results on whole brain or conduct some >>statistical tests<< with MarsBaR directly, a statistically valid group model is needed, like Donald pointed out.
If you have specified some ROIs (anatomically, literature based, using some statistically valid contrasts) and have to >>extract beta/contrast estimates<< for your individual subjects, which you want to analyse with some statistical program outside of SPM, then the second-level model for this purpose can be anything, as it just provides the paths to the beta/contrast estimates of the subjects.
