CALL for PAPERS
RGS Annual Conference 2012 3-5th July, Edinburgh
Feet, Hooves and Wheels: Moving through social and physical landscapes.
This session calls for papers focused on the diverse forms of travel or movement used within the research process and the accompanying modes of interaction with people and place. Walking and multi-sensory research have in recent years come to the fore in research methods. This session is aimed at building on these themes and encourages critical reflections on how styles of movement and interaction with place and people enhance or mask our understanding. Also, how do we capture the essence of mobile interactions encountered through our research; how do we use, communicate or represent this in disseminating research and how can modes of 'moving through' be used to transcend real and conceptual boundaries?
This is an open call for papers but novel ways of presenting or participation within a 15 minute time slot are also welcome.
Please send 300 word abstracts to both Dr Kate Moore ([log in to unmask]) and Dr Caroline Upton ([log in to unmask]) to arrive by 23rd January 2012.
