In the sports section of today's Observer an illustration of the cultural
blindness of the Brit establishment: one John Carlin writing on the Spanish
football team and regional identities says, I quote:
'And also because, unlike the Scots and Welsh, the Catalans, Basques and
Galicians - who make up 25 per cent of the Spanish population - have their
own, quite distinct languages.'
The Welsh don't have a 'distinct language'!? Let alone Scotia!
Dear Lord, preserve us from morons!
