Dear Colleague,

Present optical networks support flexible transfer of huge data streams
over very long distance. Software defined networking supports flexible
modulation schemes to increase distances and achieve high spectral
efficiency furthermore. The networks can be used also to transfer new
demanding type of services – photonic services, providing very high
optical signal fidelity including the preservation of timing. Such
services can be used for introduction of distributed sensing, precise
time or ultra-stable frequency transmission, etc. This use of photonics
networks, with no interference with the commodity data traffic, is a
rapidly growing area of research and development. Within the framework
of the 2019 42nd International Conference on Telecommunications and
Signal Processing (TSP) held during July 1-3, 2019 in Budapest, Hungary,
we invite you to present and discuss advances in the research and
development of flexible in the fields mentioned below. Topics of
interest include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Flexible all optical (fibre) networks
- High speed optical data transmission
- Optical access networks (PON)
- Software defined networks (SDN)
- Photonic services
- Optical spectrum sharing, spectrum allocation
- Precise time / stable frequency transmission
- Quantum key distribution (QKD)
- Line codes and modulation formats
- Optical networks security
- Quality of Services (QoS)
- Optical fiber sensors
- Distributed sensing
