Dear List,
The attachment says I am welcome to pass this on, and as I won't be able to go, perhaps CRUMBsters can attend and report back to the List? Sounds interesting.
Yours,
Beryl

Subject: Invitation - May 7 | Join Sir Tim Berners-Lee and Jude Kelly for the launch of Southbank Centre's Web We Want festival
Dear Professor Graham,
The creator of the Web Sir Tim Berners-Lee and Southbank Centre Artistic Director Jude Kelly invite you to the launch of the Web We Want - Southbank Centre’s major new festival celebrating the 25th anniversary of the invention of the World Wide Web.
The launch will take place on Wednesday 7 May, 09:30 - 11:30 at Southbank Centre, Belvedere Road, London SE1 8XX. To RSVP, please reply to this email - [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>.
- Help us create the festival - join the Web We Want think-in
Immediately following the launch, join Sir Tim Berners-Lee and Jude Kelly to think about what the festival could and should be about, what you would like to see represented. In your opinion, which are the most pressing issues facing the web today? Who are the most pertinent thinkers, organisations and digital artists working online? Join a range of people from the arts, creative media, technology, philosophy, journalism, politics, education, campaigning and a range of different community groups to think how we can guarantee the Web We Want.

- About Southbank Centre’s Web We Want festival
Inspired by the pioneering work of the World Wide Web Foundation and the global Web We Want campaign, Southbank Centre announces a major festival spanning September 2014 - May 2015 that looks at the extraordinary impact the web has had on individuals, governments and societies at large. The festival is dedicated to the idea that the World Wide Web can empower people to bring about positive change both in their own life and in the lives of others, asking how we can guarantee a free and open Web and how we as individuals can be free on the Web.
Southbank Centre explores the creativity and collaboration the Web has afforded and asks the big questions of how we can secure our privacy and our freedom from all kinds of tyranny online. This ambitious programme of talks and debates, visual art, installations and performances will investigate and celebrate a quarter century of Tim Berners-Lee’s radical, transformative invention.
