medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
I was wondering if anyone could tell me whether there is a recent
translation/publication of the Historical Works of Gervase of Canterbury?
The only "modern" version that I have come across is the tome edited by W.
Stubbs version from the Roll Series (published London, 1880) but as this is
in Latin, it does rather prolong the process!
I would be very grateful if the learned heads could be put together on this
- it is rather a crucial text as I am trying to study the death and early
cult of Thomas Becket and the rebuilding of Canterbury Cathedral.
Thank you,
Arabella Mileham
