Excuse my embarrassing error. I had a mental lapse and substitued Richard
Lionheart for Henry the Lion of Germany. Henry the Lion lost the duchy of
Saxony ca. 1180-1, however, according to my reference (dtv atlas zur
Weltgeschichte I, p. 165), but perhaps he retained the title.
In any case, the argument linking Agnes von Landsberg, the founder of the
Wienhausen convent, to Richard the Lionheart, Eleonore etc. was an
egregious error and only a figment of my imagination. Mea culpa.
