Professor of Medieval Studies
The University of Bristol, one of the leading research
universities in the UK, is seeking an outstanding scholar in
the area of Medieval Studies, one of the
formally designated research themes in the Arts Faculty's
strategic programme. The successful candidate will have an
international reputation for research and will be expected
to provide strong academic leadership in this field.
You will assume the Directorship of the well-established
interdisciplinary Centre for Medieval Studies, and will play
a leadership role in the new 'Medieval Cultures' Faculty
research theme. The Centre and its associated research
theme will maintain Bristol's position at the forefront of
this important area of research. Applications are invited
from candidates across the range of disciplines covered
