Dear List members,
The LS User Support Programme at CLS hold regular 2-day workshops. These
usually take place in spring and autumn, outside term time. LS workshops
provide detailed information on the linked census and event data (births,
cancers, deaths) available in the ONS Longitudinal Study (LS) and enable
researchers to gain practical hands-on experience of accessing the data.
They are an ideal opportunity to meet members of the CLS and ONS LS teams
and to discuss the suitability of the LS for exploring specific research
questions. A copy of the programme and booking form are available via the
CLS website (http://www.cls.ioe.ac.uk/Ls/lswork.htm).
As part of the hands-on element of the workshop participants are able to
specify an analysis of their choice using a small sub-set of
LS variables.
To ensure that participants get sufficient individual attention and
hands-on experience, the number of places is strictly limited. A
non-refundable fee of 50 pounds (20 pounds for students) is charged to
cover lunch, refreshments and all workshop materials.
To reserve a place for the spring 2001 LS Workshop please contact a
member of the LS User Support Team on 020 7612 6875 (email:
[log in to unmask]).
Best wishes,
