We're considering trying out a variation on the 'parking disc' card as a means by which students can indicate that they are on a short break and others can see when they are due back. Example image attached. The driver, as ever, is seat-bagging; we have tried 'take a break' cards that require users to write times down each time they take a break - these were initially reasonably well received but haven't really lessened the problem and are increasingly regarded as ineffectual - although they're still being heavily used which is leading to a financial headache as reprints are proving to be expensive. The 'parking disc' cards seem to offer a less wasteful, more engaging alternative, but the quotes I've seen mean these also don't come cheap.
I'd be keen to hear from anyone who has tried anything like these cards out. If you have, can you say that they were successful?
Best wishes all,
