CILIP's latest Executive Briefing will focus on the value of partnerships
CILIP has joined up with consulting firm Tribal to produce a cutting-edge programme for its third and final Executive Briefing of 2006. It will be presented at CILIP's Central London offices on 8 December and answer the question Public libraries are being challenged - can partnerships help?
Full details of the programme and on-line booking is available on the event's website at www.cilip.org.uk/execbriefings. This event follows the success of CILIP's Briefings on eCopyright and the e-Enabled Library, which were highly rated by a total of more than 100 delegates.
The latest Briefing will explore the different pressures faced by libraries as they meet Government demands to modernise. It will cover the impact of fast-changing technology, the library's evolving role in the local community, and the pressures caused by The Gershon Report. In particular it will look at how public private partnerships (PPP) can assist.
The programme will include case studies and showcase presentations as well as briefings on today's challenges. The opportunity to set up a virtual library will be explored, and technology's key role in the modernisation will be assessed. Ample time will be allocated to discussions and networking.
Attendance will be limited to maximise the opportunity for discussion and debate. Special delegate rates are available for CILIP members, and early booking is strongly advised via www.cilip.org.uk/execbriefings.
